Stay soft. Stay true.

ree

When I was little, I showed up in my family as a whirlwind of creativity, endlessly curious, excited, and brimming with energy.

My immediate family wasn’t like this. Their rhythms were steadier, quieter.

I felt so different that one day I made them show me my birth certificate, just to prove I belonged.

Cheeky, yes — but beneath the humor was something real: even as a child, I was observing the gap between who I was and the world around me.

✴️ Reflection

When did you first notice yourself feeling different from those around you?

How did you respond?

That moment could have turned into shame, into a story about being too much or not enough.

But what I’ve learned since is that difference can be met with compassion.

Self-compassion gave me the patience to hold that whirlwind with gentleness instead of judgment.

It allowed me to see my creativity not as alienation but as contribution.

And it helped me honor my family’s different rhythm without resentment.

We don’t always have language for these inner transformations anymore —

for the quiet ways we shed the old stories and write our more authentic ones.

But that’s what compassion does:

It keeps us company in the in-between.

It lets us stay soft long enough for something new to take shape.

✴️ Reflection

What’s one part of you that once felt “too much” — but might actually be a gift?

Compassion paired with patience is what hones our skills of observation.

It teaches us to see clearly without rushing to label or condemn.

It grounds creativity, turning dissonance into connection.

This is why I believe compassion is strength:

because it gives us the clarity to notice,

the patience to wait,

and the courage to keep belonging — to ourselves and to others —even when we feel different.

Let’s talk. If you’re navigating change and want to lead with more clarity, confidence, and connection, I’d love to support your next step.
